There have been many people who have taken their writing careers to newer levels as they accommodate the greeting card industry. They have made card making a second career for them. So, just who are some of these individuals who took what was once handmade greeting and made card making a success? Many famous writers who are seen time and time again for their famous quotes became famous with the card making industry. So what words are being put on the homemade greeting?
The one person who has made card making a huge success is the cute yellow guy from the Simpsons. You wouldn’t think of Homer being on a homemade greeting, but apparently he became famous when he said, “I’m going to the backseat of the car with the woman I love and I won’t be back for ten minutes” on a Valentines Day card. I think that was a surprise to even myself when I was looking for famous people I might associate with card making abilities!
Another one that I thought was very interesting with card making is the homemade greeting that comes from Frank Sinatra. His blessing in the card making world became a success when he wishes people to live well past one hundred. He even wishes that people reading this homemade greeting hear his voice and let it be the last one they hear.
Many of us have admired Pablo Picasso for his artwork. You would even expect some of his art to show up on a homemade greeting, what I wasn’t looking for were words he has spoken. That’s right; people have used even Picasso for card making purposes. Just like it didn’t surprise me any that Bill Cosby has appeared in a homemade greeting when they quoted this, “A word to the wise ain’t necessary….it’s the stupid one that need the advice” for a homemade greeting for a newly graduated person.
Even the comedic stars from Will and Grace have appeared on greeting cards which you do know that they would give people a chuckle, but makes you wonder how they could dish out sympathy. So, there it is. This is a glimpse of those who have made it big in those cards you send. Some you knew would eventually get there. While others you’re not quite so sure how they gotten to that point at all such as Homer Simpson.
